From elite swimming to coaching
Swimming Specialist was founded by elite international open water swimmer Asterios Daldogiannis with one mission in mind; to serve those who are passionate about swimming and want to take their performance a stroke further. Through structured training, expert guidance, and a supportive community of professionals and like-minded athletes we aim to help you achieve your full potential.
Asterios entered the pool at the age of 3 after battling severe asthma attacks since birth. Swimming not only helped him overcome this health challenge but also became his lifelong safe space. He fell in love with the sport and, despite not being the most talented athlete, he managed to break through the international stage by the age of 16. Through relentless dedication and perseverance, Asterios became one of the top 15 ultra-marathon swimmers in the world in 2022, competing in nearly every major international open water event from 2014 to 2024.
After retiring from competitive swimming, he launched the Swimming Specialist platform. Throughout his career, he learned that success in swimming isn’t just about what happens in the water. It’s about the team behind you; the coaching, the support, and the strategy that underpins every session. True success isn’t built in a two-hour practice, it’s a 24/7 way of living.
At Swimming Specialist, we combine a professional swimming background with a passion for helping others grow. Our coaching goes beyond the pool, offering personalised consultation calls, detailed technique video analysis, swim and Strength & Conditioning plans, and access to a trusted network of experts including sports nutritionists, psychologists, and more.
Our mission is to help swimmers and triathletes feel empowered, understood, and fully supported on their journey.

Asterios
Founder & Director of Swimming Specialist
As a professional swimmer who represented Greece for over a decade on the world stage, Asterios competed at the highest level, setting national records in the pool and ranking among the top 15 globally in Open Water.
Throughout his career, he trained and raced alongside world record holders, world champions, and Olympic gold medallists. He knows what it takes to perform under pressure, train with precision, and achieve results.
Swimming Specialist was built on that foundation. It delivers elite-level coaching to swimmers, triathletes, and swimming enthusiasts worldwide — no borders, no guesswork, just proven methods backed by professional communication and unwavering commitment.
After a long and successful career as a professional swimmer, Asterios transitioned into coaching—bringing with him a wealth of knowledge, discipline, and high-performance insight.
Now actively working as a coach, he combines his elite-level experience with a tailored, athlete-first approach. His mission? To help you train smarter, stay motivated, and achieve your full potential in and out of the water.
Nikos
Performance Coach at Swimming Specialist
Nikos brings a world-class competitive edge to Swimming Specialist. A former Greek national champion and national record holder in backstroke, he earned two European Junior Championship medals before taking his performance to the NCAA Division I stage.
As a D1 athlete, Nikos became a five-time All-American and an ACC bronze medallist – achievements that reflect years of disciplined training and elite execution.
Now, he applies that same high-performance mindset to coaching and mentoring.
At Swimming Specialist, Nikos works with swimmers and athletes who are ready to train with intent, refine their technique, and push their limits – guided by experience that only top-level competition can teach.
